Thankful

Welcome to Stick It Down's November blog hop! Several of our design team members have created projects to share with you using any of our past SID sketches. If you've never participated in a blog hop before, you'll "hop" from blog to blog to visit each designer's page and project. You'll leave a comment at each stop along the hop. The hop will end right back here where you started, where you can comment to let us know you've completed the hop and you're entered to win the grand prize. You have until Monday November 23 at 11:59pm to complete the hop. The winner will be announced on or before November 25.

We have several prize packages and one grand prize lined up! Paper Wings Productions is generously sponsoring our blog hop and is offering a $25 gift certificate to the online store!

Paper Wings Productions is owned by Carrie Edelmann Avery. All of the PWP stamps are produced in the USA and are made using the highest quality of materials. You can check out the PWP online store to see the red rubber cling stamps and the clear photopolymer stamps!

Are you ready to get started? Here is the order of the hop, in case you get lost:

I'm so glad you're here. You should have arrived from Evelyn 's Blog.

Here is my project.

I am very thankful that my Dad and I are so close and that we enjoy such great times together. Here we are at our local village Annual Turkey Dinner and Fireworks. It was the 63rd annual dinner and we came away from the table stuffed to the brim and thrilled to see so many friends.

The sketch is from Stick It Down designed by Brenshevia and first revealed in July of 2014.
There's also an archive of double-page and card sketches. There's lots of inspiration to get your creative juices flowing.

Thank you so much for stopping by today. It was nice of you to take of your time to visit and comment.

Your next stop on the hop is Ali and I know you'll enjoy her work.

Don't forget when you're done to leave your final comment at Stick It Down  so that we know you've completed the Blog Hop and are eligible for the prize draw.

Thanks!

BFF forever

We are so proud to be Joaquin's "Muskoka Grandparents". As such we look forward to his schools' annual Grandparent's Day.

Grandparents are treated to a morning of song and dance, more exercises than I care to participate in, and classroom activities that make me feel like I need to be schooled, not him.

Just like the kids, recess is my favourite time. This year Joaquin and his BFF teamed up to squire us around the playground. When I asked them if I could take a picture I didn't expect what I actually got. I thought perhaps a nice shot with the school name in the background. Boy was I wrong.

The two stood side by side, and, as I said "smile", those hams launched into a riotous game of funny faces and laughter. I got the best pictures ever! Shows they know what makes better shots than I do.

The layout is from the November Stick It Down double page sketch, designed by Ali Gage. I so enjoy participating with Stick It Down as one of their double page team Members.

The title, of course, just had to be "BFF forever".
I didn't use a lot of embellishment as the lengths of rulers and the zig zag pattered strip seemed to give it enough of a 'fun at school' type look.

There is also a great single page and card layout on the site. On the 1st of each month you'll find the three sketches. Whatever your fancy there's a sketch for it. Be sure to link up your design. The link is active until the end of November.
It would be great to see your design chosen by the Design Team at the end of the month. With your design chosen you'll be invited to be one of our Guest Designers.

Port Dalhousie

Port Dalhousie, a small hamlet along the shores of Lake Ontario between Hamilton and Niagara-on- the-Lake, traces its history back to first three Welland Canals, when it was used as the terminus on Lake Ontario for vessels plying the lakes.

The canal ran from Port Dalhousie on Lake Ontario to Port Robinson on the Welland River. A southbound ship would enter the canal at Port Dalhousie, sail up the canal to Port Robinson, pass through a lock into the Welland River, sail down the river to Chippawa, where oxen would tow the ship against the flow of the Niagara River to Fort Erie.

Eventually Port Dalhousie became part of the City of St. Catharines.

My layout is of Lakeside Park and the lighthouse area of Port Dalhousie. The beach is beautiful. It's been in existence since 1920. It's so well maintained that from any vantage point it looks like a perfect postcard.

I used the Scrapmuch? sketch from October 30th designed by Laura Whitaker. I love sketches that allow you 5 or 6 photos. It makes the decision as to which photos to use so much easier. There's 2 sketches up on the site now and linking up either of them, or the two yet to follow this month, makes you eligible for the November draw.

If you are ever near St. Catharines it's well worth dropping by Lakeside Park in Port Dalhousie, especially if you have a bathing suit at hand.
